DEVIL"S EYE SPRING 1995-2006
Dade City Garden Club “Springs Eternal” Flower Show
Join us for the Dade City Garden Club “Springs Eternal” Flower Show on Saturday, March 22, 2014, 10 am to 3 pm.
The photography of John Moran is the inspiration for our show. Eighteen of his beautiful photographs will be on display in the Garden Center along with design works that are a tribute and compliment his “Journey to the Springs”. John’s works have been featured in many publications including The Smithsonian, National Geographic, and the cover of the National Audubon Society Field Guide to Florida. The photographs that will be on display have captured the beauty and sadly, the decay of many of Florida’s springs over the past thirty years!
Few people realize that Florida has the largest concentration of fresh water springs anywhere in the world. Unfortunately this number is dropping at an alarming rate! The Garden Club wants to share this message with the public through John’s pictures, the Flower Show educational exhibits, designs and horticulture about what measures need to be addressed to conserve these precious resources.
The club sponsors a flower show biannually to help educate the public about horticulture, floral design, and environmental awareness (a National Garden Club objective).
There will be a wonderful Gardener’s Bazaar and plant sale featured in our club’s botanical gardens that will include unique metal and pottery yard art; stained glass; Tom Boy garden tools; caladium bulbs; bromeliads; amaryllis bulbs; native plants; and a wide variety of landscaping plants.
The Springs Eternal Flower Show, bazaar, and plant sale will be located at the Dade City Garden Center, 13630 5th Avenue.
For additional information call Jill at 352 588-9688. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
