Floral Design Lesson #1
Crescent Design/Multi Rhythmic Design

This event is open to Dade City Garden Club members.
To help members get ready for the “Blooms & Bees—The Buzz in the Garden” NGC Small Standard Flower Show, the Dade City Garden Club is once again offering Floral Design instruction. We are so fortunate to have two talented DCGC instructors, Diane Scott and Kathy Phillips, teaching us two of the design classes that will be featured in our upcoming flower show. Members with all levels of abilities are invited to attend. That's right! Even if you have never tried floral designing before, you are welcome to attend and get trained. Our instructors will be standing by to help you through the process.
We had originally scheduled the first in this series for October but because of the hurricane, we had to postpone. The new date is Wednesday, January 29, 2025. If you already purchased your ticket for Floral Design Lesson #1, don't worry. Your spot is confirmed!
In the morning, Diane Scott will teach the Crescent Design Form, followed by Kathy Phillips, who will instruct in creating the Multi Rhythmic Floral Design. Of special note is that Crescent Design will be a novice category, meaning that only people who have never won a blue ribbon may enter. After lunch participants will have a work time to create their own Crescent Design. Step-by-step assistance will be available for any design help and questions will be addressed.
Participants will need to supply their own tools, flowers, and greenery, but no worries! A list describing the necessary supplies will go out before the lesson. Bases and wet foam will be supplied. The fee of $16 will cover the cost of the bases and wet foam as well as the materials used by the instructors for the lesson. And don’t forget to bring your lunch.

- 9 am Morning coffee will be supplied
- 9:30 am to 11:30 am Design lessons
- 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Lunch Break (Bring your own)
- 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm Work time and review of project
