Monarch Butterfly Festival

Monarch butterflies and family fun will take center stage at the 3rd Annual Dade City Monarch Butterfly Festival on Saturday, October 22, 2022. The Festival will be held at Polly Touchton Park located between 5th Street and 7th Street and Bougainvillea Avenue and Southview Avenue in Dade City from 10 am to 3 pm and is being presented by the Dade City Garden Club and the Dade City Youth Council.

The ongoing theme highlighted throughout the day is everyone can make a difference! Municipalities, community groups and even individuals can help save the Monarchs by taking a few simples steps. Through our collective efforts, our community can help all pollinators, improve our environment, and make Dade City a better place to live, play and work.

Dade City Garden Club’s Monarch Project

1 GClogo 1The Dade City Garden Club's Monarch Project leads a community effort to increase awareness and educate the public on the importance of helping the Monarch butterfly and other pollinators. The Dade City Garden Club has partnered with the City of Dade City to establish Dade City as a Monarch City USA and promotes the Monarch Project through workshops, creating Monarch habitat by certifying Monarch Butterfly Havens in Dade City and hosting the annual Monarch Butterfly Festival in Dade City.

Seventeen committee members representing all six circles and members at large are active in organizing and promoting the Project’s activities.

What began as a simple discussion among garden club members has evolved into what we hope will be a movement, one that will bring together the young and the old, families and businesses, churches and politicians—all working together to create a better Dade City.
